What?
First online game from https://all-wins-casino.co.uk/ Crytek.
Where?
Garna Ukrainian, Kyiv office Crytek
When people find out that Crytek, the authors of Far Cry and both parts of Crysis, make a free online shooter, then the first thing they usually grab their hearts, and then begin to swear dirtyly. How so? A company that creates excellent full-fledged games suddenly stepped on a slippery path? Guard! Treason!
If you recognize yourself in these lines, we advise you first of all to calm down. Crytek does not refuse the production of expensive blockbuster (follow the announcements) for easy profit on the rich inn line games. The company just decided to try something new for itself. The main goal is the previous one, to develop an excellent game. But the second but no less monumental task was added to it: to make this game accessible as many players as possible. To make sure of the pure thoughts of the developers and dispel all doubts (which, what were there, we also have), we went to the Kiev Crytek division and personally got acquainted with Warface.
Alien among his own
It is in Kyiv that the main work on the game is underway, so that it with a clear conscience can be called domestic development. As already mentioned, Warface is a free online shooter that will fight for a place under the sun with dozens of similar ones. But even at first glance, it is favorably different from competitors. We are all somehow used to the fact that free games outwardly not too far from Counter-Strike 1.6 : poor environment, clumsy models of special forces and bandits, abstract cards, which are a pile of cargo containers or even just large and small boulders, in a word, poor. Therefore, when you see Warface live, there is a small cultural shock – the game is very easy to confuse with ordinary single -user shooters.
[[Bullet]] When we say that outwardly the game is easy to confuse with boxing blockbusters, we mean this.
The "guilty" in this is the Cryengine 3 engine, the same one on which it works Crysis 2. Of course, Warface does not look so cool. Michael Krah, producer Warface, does not miss the opportunity to remind us once again that it is very important to observe the balance between the technical sulfate and the availability of the game for most people, even if they do not have the most powerful computers. So wait for photorealistic graphics and destruction a la Battlefield 3 Not worth it. Nevertheless, in our subjective opinion, purely outwardly Warface is in no way inferior to the multiplayer of the last games of the series Call of Duty.
But there is a difference in the internal content, and quite significant. Start with the fact that we have to fight in the near future, and it is emphasized that no science fiction, like in Crysis, will be. Maximum – some prototypes of military equipment that are now being developed or are tested. In the future, however, according to Crytek, nothing good awaits us: the UN has self -exposed, each country pulls the blanket over itself, here and there local conflicts flare up. To whom the next well with oil will depart, the semi -government organizations of mercenaries decide. Warface is just such an organization, only secret, and it is clearly not necessary to sit without work.
Let your hand
Every day of the mercenaries, and therefore you, will wait for new missions. This is one of the fundamental features of the game: in addition to ordinary battles with other players, cooperative missions will be generated daily, which can be held in the company with three friends (or completely strangers). Computer fighters will be opponents here, and almost any task can be set before your detachment: to protect or save someone, to destroy or capture something, or even deal with some cool boss.
[[Bullet]] tackle on the ass will surely be in great demand in the multiplayer.
The team work is extremely important here. Running forward with headlong only makes sense at a slight level of complexity, otherwise the detachment will find fast and inevitable death. Ideally, there should not be fighters with the same specialization in the ranks. There are just four classes: the attack aircraft skillfully treats the rifle and can throw cartridges, an engineer shoots from submachine guns, repairing the armor and minimes everything that he can reach, the medic is fighting with a shotgun and knows how to revive the persons who have rested, and only a sniper is worth it a little apart – it does not help anyone directly, but prefers to stay behind and take off the enemies with headshot. But, if the developers do not change their minds, in the final version they will give him special climbing gloves that will allow you to climb alone where in another situation without the help of a comrade you will not climb.
Interaction with the team is not limited only to throwing cartridges and discharges of the defibrillator – the entire level must be passed, regularly helping each other. Enemies attack from different sides, and there are constantly situations when you have to cover the back of a friend. Also, a partner can be planted on a balcony or roof of the building, from where it can effectively maintain a detachment with fire and quickly take off snipers, which are not always clearly visible from the ground.
[Bullet]] NOT NOT OF THE WHOLE OF THE GIGN OF THE GAME, but sometimes it will be possible to come across allied tanks and use them as mobile shelters.
In the fight against bosses, competent coordination is generally vital. So far, three varieties of bosses have been stated: soldiers in thick armor under the code name "Jaggert", a controlled robot in three human heights and the most terrible enemy – a military helicopter. In the fight against them, it is imperative that someone distracts the fire on themselves, while the rest are trying to shoot the weakness of the enemy. In the jaggernaut, this is a battery on his back, the robot is a cockpit, and you just need to manage to get from a grenade launcher in a helicopter, which is extremely difficult to do.
There is safety in numbers
Having passed combat briefing, we at the company of other journalists finally ended up at computers. To get acquainted with the game (we all sat down for her for the first time in our life), it was decided to first run through the cooperative level. By the way, and after the release, starting to play Warface is best from the coope. Here you can safely figure out how everything works before mediating in multiplayer battles with living opponents.
[[Bullet]] from left to right: attack aircraft, engineer, sniper, doctor.
The editor of the characters firmly settled on the screen, where, as it turned out, you can equip the fighter with everything necessary: choose weapons, grenades, gadgets, sights, silencers, armor – in general, prepare a soldier for the upcoming battle. All equipment is bought, more precisely, rented for the game money issued for successes on the battlefield. Opposite some dandies of decorated trunks, images of coins with crowns flaunt – they will be awarded the most successful teams that scored maximum points following the results of daily missions.
Having reached, we find ourselves in a helicopter. While it flies to the landing point, you can stick out into the windows specially designed for this and slightly grieve, shooting along the first enemies. The shooting gallery does not last long, soon the helicopter lands, and then you have to knead the dirt with Kirza. At first, everything goes well – the detachment cheerfully runs forward, the enemy infantry is fighting pretty sluggish. For the sake of interest, I help to overcome the wall of the partner – it turns out that after that you can either stay on the ground, or take advantage of the help of a comrade hanging from the fence and move through the barrier. Once on the other side, we easily go to the rear to the special forces with shields, one of which has already tumbled down the third fighter of our detachment to the ground and was happy to luke him with a club. Putting the turn in the back of the shield-bearer (in front he is almost invulnerable), we save a friend, the holes in his armor, we clean the area … and suddenly, from around the corner, a jaggernaut with a minigan proudly emerges.
[[Bullet]] mutual assistance in the game not for check. To reach the highest lines in the ratings, you cannot do without interaction with the team.
Here one unpleasant nuance became clear – there was not a single physician in the team. Two fighters walked almost immediately, two more with an insignificant success tried to get along the battery on the back of the mini-boss. It all ended expectedly: after a short, but fussy running around I had to start a mission at first. But this time already according to the mind, having agreed who will play whom.
Only hardcore
The second call was much more successful, while it differed from the first. Enemies attacked from other positions, and their composition was different. As explained by Mikhail Haimzon, the creative director of the game, this was done specifically so that, firstly, it was more interesting and, secondly, it was impossible to learn the level of the nazum and pass it with closed eyes, trying to beat other teams.
[[Bullet]] Skimors, like in Call of Duty, are bruised. In addition, it is very difficult to notice them in Warface.
Having easily passed the mission, we demanded something more complicated. Mikhail squinted cunningly, and it became clear that nothing good was waiting for us. After loading another task at a high level of complexity, maybe thirty seconds, before all four fighters fell the death of the brave. Moreover, the enemies have not changed: they have the same weapon and the same amount of health, they just began to shoot more accurately. It became clear that it was here for the title of the best that close -knit hardcore teams will fight. The pace of the game has changed radically – I had to crawl on the belly, hide behind cars and columns and cover, cover, cover each other. Around Jaggernaut, the team spun ten minutes. When it separated the couple of queues from the death, Mikhail gave a valuable advice to the doctor – to finish off the bastard with the defibrillator. Unlike conventional bullets, you can use the current of an armored opponent from either side, although it is very dangerous to approach it closely, of course.
With sin in half, we hung up to the place of the final fight with a robot, which to kill with ordinary weapons for a long time and dreary. I had to rush in the arena, select charges for a grenade launcher and methodically fed them to the driver in armored cockpit. After another ten minutes, we completely exhausted, but the happy watched how the formidable car fell apart into parts. It remains only to run to the “turntable” and fly away. Already at the very end, Mikhail joked: “The most ridiculous end of the mission is when someone throws a grenade inside the helicopter …” For some reason, I didn’t want to laugh.
Just a war
How easily you can guess from the above, Warface has something to offer both casuals and hardcore players. Some fears about complex missions still arise, it is very easy to seduce and start selling objects for real money that would facilitate the passage. To any question about the monetization of the game, all involved in its development, as a mantra, repeat: "We do not think about business models, for us the main thing is to make a cool game". So you can only guess why they will take money from the players. Surely it will be possible to buy weapons and gadgets for eternal use, which are rented for game coins for a certain period (from a couple of hours to several weeks). Surely there will be some status products, for example, causing coloring for weapons. Surely for money they will be offered to speed up the pumping. But what will happen for sure, we will find out only after the release of the game.
The most important thing is that everything is within reasonable limits. Michael Krah reassures us with the words that shooters are not mmorpg, the skills of the player are still very important here. Moreover, Michael assured that it would be possible to become a top player without buying anything at all for real money.
[[Bullet]] Swimmers love to knock down the soldiers from the feet and process with a club.
There are also some doubts about PVP. After all, in addition to the cooperative, there will be a standard competitive multiplayer. Having played a couple of matches, we came to the conclusion that there is no way to wait for any revelations. The process is very much like Modern Warfare – the same quick battles, the same tight maps and the same game modes. However, the same rules work here as in the coopeous: to his associates you can help, plant them on roofs and balconies, revive, share cartridges and so on. So there will be a close -knit team where to turn around.
Here, by the way, two more interesting features of the game were very useful, not so important in battles with bots. The first is a dashing tone on the ass. Having accelerated, you can flop to the fifth point and drive on it a few meters, which helps to quickly squeeze into holes in fences or roll up to the enemy and plant a charge of fractions in a belly. The second is the opportunity to put another sight, muffler or bayonet-knife on the rifle right during the match. The system is very similar to the customization of weapons from both parts of Crysis and allows you to adapt to the situation on the fly. But in general, the impressions are still neutral from the PVP: it was made not bad, but some new emotions, unlike the coope, does not cause.
Warface is still seen by us the first free online game with a human face. It is created by people for whom quality is in the first place, and that is why Warface is not a shame to show a person who does not accept the philosophy of Free-to-Play. Michael Krach believes that in the future the border between free and classic boxed projects if it does not disappear completely, then at least it will be very taped and the abbreviation F2P will finally cease to be a curse for people seriously enthusiastically enthusiastically enthusiastic. Warface is now at an impromptu crossroads: it surpasses all the free shooters that exist now, but has not yet acquired the necessary elements of traditional games – a cool production, plot, interesting characters and a wide variety of situations.
The success of the game largely depends on where the F2P market will move further. If Warface becomes popular, the rest of the developers will not have anything but to pull up to its level, and this is the evolution, from which we will win first of all. So we sincerely wish Crytek good luck.
We will wait?
Free online shooter, which in terms of performance can shut up most of the paid competitors for the belt, including Call of Duty.
Readiness percentage: 90%
Technologies of the future
[[Bullet]] Walking Truck is unlikely to amaze someone with its appearance, but in any case it proves that walking machines are possible in principle.
In Warface you will not find laser weapons, nanocostyums and other science fiction pieces. However, it is necessary to justify something that the game takes place in the near future, so some military developments still got into the game. Of course, I would like to see the self -assembled bullets invented by the Americans or at least the Reilgan, but this would spoil the balance. So you have to be content with exoskeletons and furs (robots piloted by people), and even then only as enemies.
Exoskeletons are actually far from fantasy. There are working prototypes, one of the most popular – Xos Exoskeleton. Exoskeleton is an external skeleton, which, incidentally, is found in nature in many insects and marine animals. The artificial exoskeleton intended for a person helps to easily move weights, ten times big than a person could raise himself. The above Xos Exoskeleton “reduces the weight” of objects by about twenty times (one hundred kilograms are felt like five) and allows you to break the fist with a fist with a fist. YouTube is full of videos in which a soldier like a gun lifts 35-kilogram boxes with cartridges and presses 100 kilos of net weight on a simulator without apparent effort.
[[Bullet]] exoskeleton XOS Exoskeleton in action.
So far, however, it does not go further than prototypes – you need to deal with the power source. When this problem is resolved, it is quite possible to create closed armor based on exoskeletons like the Jaggernauts seen in the game, without difficulty turning around a hefty helicopter machine gun.
But with the furs, the case is still going. The only more or less working prototype was designed in the last century, was called a “walking truck”, moved at a speed of 8 km/h (the driver was wildly tired, despite the hydraulic power steering) and looked far from as spectacular as the robot from Warface. So far, the direction is recognized as hopeless, but who knows what the future will turn out ..
