Denis Leary and Ray Romano both starred in the Ice Age franchise (2002-present)
It tells the story of three very different families who compete to buy the same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they believe will solve all their problems. When you look at this show through a narrative lens, the parts don’t fit together.
There were a lot of red herrings
They dive so deep into each character’s backstory that the overall story doesn’t feel strong enough to stay on track. It all comes together in the end.
It would have been stronger without the ensemble cast, I’m sure
There are a lot of familiar faces, so I can see why they did it. There were some weak characters in it, both in the writing and in the acting.
The best part by far
Some of the others seemed to struggle with the balance of comedy and drama. I think it’s time for Netflix to give Linda Cardellini her own show.
