Gary Oldman was originally considered, but was replaced by Kevin Kline
Tale
Follow Catherine Ravenscroft, a television documentary journalist whose work is based on exposing the wrongdoings of long-respected institutions. The reviews here are more entertaining than the show itself lol. How the hell did Alfonso Cuaron manage to put on such a terrible show?
The actors seem to have no idea how to play their roles
From the start, the two young men on the train are annoying in the first scene, and the mediocre acting continues from then on. Even Kevin Kline, who in my eyes can usually do no wrong, seems to be doing it half-heartedly. The narration style is unnatural and the sound quality is strangely inconsistent.
Kodi Smit-McPhee is like a wet rag
I think the narrative style is taken directly from the book, but it doesn’t always make sense in the context of the TV show. For example, sometimes the narrative is focused on Cate Blanchett’s character and tells about her own experiences, which is just weird. Sacha Baron Cohen looks out of place and gets strangely hysterical at times.
It’s all a bit strange
One star for the cute cat. The final season of What We Do in the Shadows is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month. Check out our October calendar for more information!
