Tale
During the war, a poor woodcutter and his wife live in a large forest. One day, the woman finds and saves a girl, which brings irreversible changes to the lives of the couple and those whose paths cross the child.
This is the best 2024 release I have seen this year, and it is in mid-December 2024
It tells a story that takes place in Poland during World War II, almost like a popular fairy tale. Most of the plot takes place in the forest, which is so typical of the aforementioned popular fairy tales, and revolves around a couple of woodcutters who adopt a Jewish girl who was thrown from a deportation train that crossed their forest.
From a technical point of view, everything is done perfectly
Her father dropped her to save her from certain death in Auschwitz. I will not go into the details of the plot so that you can see them for yourself, I just want to add that the film comes to a deeply philosophical conclusion.
The visual effects in the film are done in an excellent way
The drawing style is just right, not too detailed nor too rough, with mostly walls in twilight and dominant shades of gray, highlighting the horrors of the most shameful war and mass destruction in human history. And then there is the soundtrack, which is sublime: the musical accompaniment, the sound effects, the narration and the narration (I saw the original version in French), all perfectly match the presentation of this gem of a film.
