Eva (Odessa Young), a 19th-century widow, is tasked with making an impossible choice when a ship sinks off the coast of her isolated fishing outpost in the midst of a particularly brutal winter. Eva and her crew must choose between saving the castaways or surviving the winter on their last meal. Faced with the consequences of their choices and suffering their guilt, the townspeople grapple with a growing sense of dread, beginning to believe that they are all being punished for their choices.
